Welcome to Whit’s Food Fit. I’m the Whit behind the food and fit! While struggling through Grave’s Disease with chronic hives, among a myriad of other symptoms, I discovered that fueling myself according to my body’s needs drastically changed how I felt. Paired with a sprinkle of medication, prescribed supplementation, and lifestyle changes, my lab work became normal and my symptoms disappeared.

Our bodies are smart and beautiful and tell us when something needs to be changed. I fully believe that when we listen and make those changes, our bodies breathe a big sigh of relief, and healing happens. We may not have control over every aspect of our health, but we can always strive for “Better Than I Used to Be.” Thanks Mat Kearney.
A major part of healing and living a vibrant life has been switching food that cause inflammation for food that is anti-inflammatory. This can be quite the task, considering the endless amount of packaged food on the store aisles, common societal beliefs about dieting, and that whole foods have a reputation for being both unsatiating and less flavorful. Well, I’m here to provide recipes and lifestyle choices that are anti-inflammatory, not fussy, and totally satisfying. Food should taste good. Self-care should feel good.
Here you will find some exercise tips, lots of veggie-packed meals, and desserts that don’t follow a specific diet. However, I know some diets can be life-changing for people, so each recipe will be labeled to help you find what you need. Just about all recipes will be gluten-free and dairy-free, most will be Paleo, some AIP, some will be Keto, some Whole30, some Vegan, and so on. The goal is that all will be anti-inflammatory for the general population. You know yourself, so if you avoid any food for any reason, my hope is that there will be something for you here.
If you’re having a hard time finding something yummy that goes along with your needs, feel free to shoot me a message and I can try to help you out or create a new recipe.
I hope you enjoy and feel empowered to take charge of your health! Please share as you make recipes, by leaving a comment, tagging @whitsfoodfit on Instagram, sharing on Facebook, or sending me an email.
Happy eating and vibrant living!
