Let the oatmeal making begin!
The steps:
- First, cook your oats. I used Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Old Fashioned Rolled Oats. You can do this by covering the oats in water and microwaving until they’re soft- I like about 1 minute and 15 seconds.
- Drain any excess water and then mix in your flavorings.
- Peel and chop your oranges and mix them into the oatmeal.
- Top with sea salt, chopped walnuts, and extra orange pieces.

Substitutions:
- Regular milk or other non-dairy milk can be subbed for coconut milk.
- You can use chocolate protein powder, instead of unflavored. I love Paleovalley Unflavored Bone Broth Protein Powder. If you do use a different type, you can skip the cacao powder and the sweetener.
- Stevia, coconut sugar, maple syrup, honey, or any other sweetener can be subbed for liquid monk fruit sweetener. I have loved this Liquid Monk Fruit sweetener, and a little goes a long way. This little bottle will last for many months.
- Use what oranges you have on hand. I used regular naval oranges, but mandarin oranges, blood oranges, or other varieties will work as well.

Suggested kitchen items:
- Stainless steel measuring utensils. The spoons are my favorite, because they fit in spice jars. I also love using stainless steel, instead of plastic.
- Paleovalley Bone Broth Protein Powder. I love this protein for a lot of reasons. Mainly for it being unflavored and gut healing.
- Liquid Monk Fruit Sweetener. I’ve really enjoyed this sweetener, because it doesn’t have a weird aftertaste and a little goes a long way.
